The days of the week

There are seven days in the week.

We usually work for five of them. We call these five days "the working week".

Many people take two days off work, we call these days "the weekend".

Monday is usually the first day of the week. Friday is usually the last day of the working week. Sunday is considered a day of rest.

Here is a rhyme that may help you remember the days of the week

The days of the week:-

"Monday’s child is fair of face,
Tuesday’s child is full of grace,
Wednesday’s child is full of woe,
Thursday’s child has far to go,
Friday’s child is loving and giving,
Saturday’s child works hard for living,
But the child that is born on a Sunday
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay."

Prepositions

For days we use the preposition "on".

For example:

We run reading sessions on Mondays, and Wednesdays.

I love it when my birthday is on a Saturday.

!Note - Days always begin with a CAPITAL letter.
